Where Come From AI Rams (out of Canada) Genetic Evaluation?

Where come from AI rams evaluation? Why can we not import data coming from another genetic program?

It is really complex to include data coming from other countries in the GenOvis system.

First of all, there are no agreements with NZ, AUS or other country for exchange of data. Then, we would need all . . . → Read More: Where Come From AI Rams (out of Canada) Genetic Evaluation?

Do You Know That EPDs Calculation (Mainrun) Is Done Once a Week?

How Are Computed Genetic Indexes?

The new genetic evaluation system involved the fitting of two six trait models one for growth traits and the other for reproduction traits. The programs that perform the analysis were developed by Larry Schaeffer.

The traits involved are:

Growth: EPD Lamb Survival (1 to 5) EPD Birth Weight (kg) EPD Adjusted 50 day weight . . . → Read More: How Are Computed Genetic Indexes?

Use of AI rams yet unable to use their data in Genovis system

Hello there,

We are using AI genetics in our flock that come from New Zealand and Australia. A lot of time, effort, and money has been spent to get these genetics here to make improvements on several breeding programs throughout Canada. There is data on these rams which includes ultrasound data that needs to be . . . → Read More: Use of AI rams yet unable to use their data in Genovis system
